RVIA Economic Impact Study

The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association commissioned an Economic Impact Study on the RV industry, released on June 7, 2016. The study found that the RV industry contributes about $49.7 billion in economic output or 0.28 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. Through its production and distribution linkages, the industry impacts firms in 426 of the 440 sectors of the United States economy.

Nationwide, the industry is responsible for 216,170 jobs, both directly and inderectly, creating an economic impact of $37.5 billion. The full study results, along with each individual state and congressional district's economic impact is available on the website by clicking here .

Winegard Expands IoT Staff

148182496733414.pngWinegard Co. announces the addition of key personnel to drive its future endeavors in the Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G technology.

Lance Beck joins as director of product development for the IoT division. Winegard will be a force in the area of making “things” communicate with each other—RVs, cars, homes and much more. Beck brings a proven track record of success from the industrial monitoring and smart home connectivity markets.

Marvin Metzler joins as the senior director of business development for Winegard’s Mobile division. He will lead the team housed in the Elkhart, Ind. Innovation Center. Marvin has an extensive background in the RV, automotive, power sports and marine industries and is well versed in product development (he holds six patents) and distribution. As former president and CEO of Mito Corporation, he has experience in creating strategies for growing companies.

James Witty joins as new business development director for the RV OEM division. A veteran of the RV industry, Witty has held positions at The RV Factory and Nexus RV.

Chris Panelli and Steven Zonker both join Winegard in Elkhart as RV OEM account managers. Each works directly with OEMs to help accessorize RVs with attractive satellite, over-the-air programming and connectivity options that consumers want while RVing. Panelli has extensive RV manufacturer knowledge having worked for Keystone, Nexus and Forest River. Zonker has worked in the RV industry for several years, most recently as national sales manager at The RV Factory.

Shelby DeWulf joins the Winegard team as the director of corporate marketing to advance the company as a leader in connectivity. Her background in the technology and manufacturing industries gives her a strong understanding of IoT, Wi-Fi and cellular technologies and how consumers can benefit from high-performance connectivity.
